Safe: In Bologna, the capital of Emilia Romagna, LignoAlp created a five-storey wooden building with seven modern residential units in just ten months in 2018/2019. The timber construction method enabled both optimum energy efficiency and a significant reduction in construction time.
Arch. Stefano Muratori wanted to construct a residential building according to the CasaClima standard that stands out from the average and is on a par with the best reinforced concrete, steel and glass buildings in Italy. Technology has developed rapidly over the past ten years, says the planner Muratori. It is now possible to construct extraordinary multi-storey buildings made of wood that are earthquake-proof, fire protection-compliant, energy-efficient, cosy and offer the highest level of living comfort.
LignoAlp realised the building in close cooperation with the planning office. Technical and aesthetic requirements were met, simplified processes on the construction site and cost certainty enabled greatly reduced construction times. The project was realised as a turnkey project in just ten months. Glued laminated timber X-Lam was chosen for the load-bearing structure. This made it possible to combine outstanding structural properties with speed in the execution.
